公讳淵,字德庄,湖州德清人。曾大父革,通议大夫赠正议大夫,曾祖母咸宁郡君葛氏、普宁郡君常氏、遂宁郡君曹氏。大父秉,龙图阁直学士,左朝奉大夫,累赠少师,祖母魏国夫人莫氏。父知原,右宣奉大夫,充徽猷阁待制,累赠少师。母益国夫人苏氏,所生母太安人季氏。公初调宣州宜城丞,次庐州梁县,兴国军大冶县宰,威武军签判,权西外宗正簿,通判郴州。丁所生母太安人季氏忧,服阕,除行在都进奏院,改差通判太平州,官自承务郎迁至朝散郎。以己亥(1119年)九月十九日申时生,淳熙元年(1174年)八月二十九日以疾终于德清所居之正寝,寿五十有六。以是年十一月十三日葬于绍兴府新昌县杨坑之阴。妻安人吕氏。二男:曰希卨、曰希龙。三女:长适承事郎差监建康府户部大军仓赵盅;次幼。男希高泣血谨书。沃洲石邦基书讳并监刊。

Epitaph of Vice Prefectural Administrator Lu Yuan of the Song Dynasty
Lu Yuan, courtesy name Dezhuang, was a native of Deqing County, Huzhou.

Initially appointed as Assistant Magistrate of Yicheng County, Xuanzhou;
Later served as:
- Assistant Magistrate of Liang County, Luzhou
- Magistrate of Daye County, Xingguo Army
- Assistant Administrator of Weiwu Army
- Acting Registrar of the Western Imperial Clan Office
- Vice Administrator of Chenzhou
After observing mourning for his biological mother Lady Ji, he was appointed to the Secondary Capital Dispatch Office and reassigned as Vice Administrator of Taiping Prefecture. His rank rose from Attendant Gentleman to Court Gentleman for Spreading Integrity.
Life:
Born in the shen hour (3-5 pm) on the 19th day of the 9th lunar month, 1119; Died of illness in his residence at Deqing on the 29th day of the 8th lunar month, 1174, aged 56. Buried at the northern slope of Yangkeng, Xinchang County, Shaoxing Prefecture, on the 13th day of the 11th lunar month, 1174.
