尝闻百年之计树人,十年之计树木,然亦有不仅为十年计者也。切王将岭为新东要道,崇山

岭峻,路旁未有古木遮护,值盛暑亢阳、炎威热逼,□往来人等无庇荫之区,亦不免有焦劳

之叹矣。今接引庵持住显凤特发诚心,爰邀邻近地坛山、王将岭上下两旁栽培树木,□□□

□□□管样成林,过往行旅永□萌庇之休,岂仅十年云尔哉?如所样之木枯死,归庵修造使

用,俱不得争论。□□□树木长大,山主、住僧永不许砍砟刺削,如违例者,罚银拾两,决

不徇□□情。凡我同盟各宜协力同心,毋勤始以怠终。爰为勒石,以垂不朽云。

注:碑高 102 厘米,宽 37 厘米,圭首,祥云奉日纹额,镜岭镇西坑青石。现存镜岭镇塘北

村双株树寺。

It is said: For a century plan, cultivate people; for a decade plan, cultivate trees. Yet this serves beyond mere decades. Wangjiang Ridge being vital eastern passage of Xinchang, its lofty peaks lacked ancient trees for shade. Under scorching summer sun, travelers endured [text lost] exposure without shelter. Now Abbot Xianfeng of Jieyin Temple initiated tree-planting along the ridge near Ditanshan, mobilizing locals to cultivate saplings. [text lost] When fully grown, these trees shall provide perpetual shade for wayfarers – benefits transcending decades. Dead trees may be used for temple repairs without dispute. [text lost] Once matured, landowners and monks shall never fell or damage them. Violators fined 10 taels silver, no leniency [text lost]. All covenant members must persevere without negligence. Herein engraved for eternity.
