窃闻之朱子有言曰: “士大夫家必有主,主必有庙。天下葬合人心,统摄众志之道非一,

其至大莫过于宗庙。”又尝读《大传》有云: “亲亲故尊祖,尊祖故敬宗,敬宗故收族,收

族故宗庙严。”是则子姓之建祠以奉先,由来尚矣。我族自俊五公始卜筑于兹,孙支繁衍,

食德服畴,盖已多历年所,而祠庙未建,即合食无由,胡以展尊祖敬宗之意乎。爰于乾隆壬

子(1792 年)岁,族长锦信等议捐建造。则俊五府君派下,本属两房理宜公听,而费用浩大,

房分不均:大房相瀚、相元、相彪等不能对股出捐,二小房锦富、锦伦、锦宿等亦难以按房

公派。合族公议:二大房、大月公及国昌公派下锦瑞、相礼、佩、莲、涍等,除搬运土工照

丁公派外,情甘独造。内惟大树四株系大明公四股得一,厥后大房汝蛟公助树两株;存寿公

出钱拾千;二小房仁、廿二公派下树两株、钱十千。其所捐钱系充上梁日酒资之费,余悉二

大房承办也。因即于是年冬楹桷鼎新,墙阶完耸,惟重檐雕镂及丹膜黧垩之功缺焉未备。是

时,大二小两房固据议不捐钱钞,二大房派下又几家甚惜锱铢,告厥成功需之何日?是以再

议,国俊公派下涍、洪、济、文炳、文煜、文烺、文炤七人,分轻重而各効输捐,凑钱共贰

佰千文,鸠工润泽,而祠庙于焉告竣。从兹奉主入祠,业已追所自出,由俊五而下分昭穆配

享者,直逮修斋二行矣,独是庙必设祭,祭必以田。爰遵前议,大房熙一公派捐田叁亩、存

寿公派捐田柒亩、二小房仁、廿二太祖派下公捐田拾亩,共田贰拾亩,立契归祠,永为四季

荐享及奏霓裳之费。嗣后照议,大房及二小房仅捐田亩,情愿与二大房独建祠庙者分为三房

茔田、祭产俱三股,轮流承值,永无争执等弊。此不惟各房之私愿,要亦列祖在天之灵所心

许也。特恐年湮代远,子若孙莫知庙所由成,田所自出,因述其本末及所捐田亩分字号丘片,

一一勒之于石。庶后裔之见斯碑者,咸知造庙捐田,功自不可泯灭,而肃然起追远报本之思,

益以光显前烈于无穷云耳。是为记。

Zhu Xi stated: "Gentry households must have ancestral tablets, tablets must have temples." The Book of Rites declares: "Affection begets reverence for ancestors, reverence begets respect for the lineage, respect unifies the clan, unification solemnizes the temple." Thus ancestral halls have ancient origins. Since Lord Junwu settled here, our clan flourished for generations without a temple – until 1792 when patriarch Jinxin proposed construction. Junwu's descendants comprised two branches: Major Branch (Xianghan, Xiangyuan, Xiangbiao) could not contribute equally; Minor Branch (Jinfu, Jinlun, Jinsu) resisted proportional levies. Ultimately, the Two Major Branches – with Dayue Gong and Guochang Gong's descendants Jinrui, Xiangli, Pei, Lian, Xiao – volunteered full construction (excluding earthworks per capita). Four trees from Daming Gong's share, plus: Major Branch's Rujiao donated two trees; Cunshou gave 10,000 cash; Minor Branch's Ren/Twenty-second Ancestor donated two trees and 10,000 cash for beam-raising feast. By winter, pillars and walls rose, but carved eaves and paint remained unfinished. As Minor Branch refused further funds and some Major Branch members resisted, seven from Guojun Gong's lineage – Xiao, Hong, Ji, Wenbing, Wenyu, Wenlang, Wenzhao – donated 200,000 cash to complete decorations. Now enshrined ancestors include Junwu to Xiuzhai Gong across generations. Temples require sacrificial lands: Major Branch's Xiyi Gong donated 3 mu; Cunshong Gong 7 mu; Minor Branch's Ren/Twenty-second Ancestor 10 mu – totaling 20 mu deeded to the temple for perpetual rites and music. Henceforth: Major and Minor Branches share rotating sacrificial duties equally with the Two Major Branches – ending disputes. This fulfills ancestral will. Lest descendants forget, we engrave origins and land plots (omitted). May this stone inspire eternal reverence.
